moccasin fire 2NEAR SPRAGUE RIVER, Ore. — For the first time since the Moccasin Hill fire broke out near Sprague River, we’re getting an accurate number of how many structures have been destroyed.

The Oregon Department of Forestry said the count is up to 33, many of those structures being homes. They said the homes were destroyed on the first day of the fire on Sunday afternoon.

In the meantime, crews are getting a handle over the 2,500 acre fire. The containment is up to 35 percent and crews are expecting to have it fully contained by Saturday.
