MEDFORD, Ore. — Taxi companies in Medford said New Year’s Eve was a busy night for work, with cab drivers going practically non-stop until morning.
Several cab companies said they were flooded with calls all night, which forced a very long wait time for some customers. But they said they expected the big business on New Year’s Eve, saying the only time things are busier is if the holiday lands on a Friday or Saturday night.
“It’s stressful because you don’t get a break,” said Craig Owen of Valley Cab. “You go for six, eight hours before you get any time to stop and get a cup of coffee or something.”
But the night also came with a little bad news for one company. Valley Cab said one of its vehicles was crushed in a hit-and-run. The person who did it has not yet been found.
