MEDFORD, Ore. — 5th graders from Medford and Cave Junction are celebrating a new partnership, called “The Big Idea”.

The Big Idea is a partnership between United Way of Jackson County, the Medford School District and Evergreen Elementary. They are working to create 100% high school completion for the class of 2020.

“It was expected of us that you will go to college and some of these kids don’t have that in their homes so that’s why it’s important for community to come, give that expectation to the kids and help them follow through on it,” explains Rogue Valley Manor Executive Director Becky Snyder.

Wednesday was the first time all of the young people got together. Parents, students, teachers, and community members were all there celebrating this event to get fifth graders excited for graduation in 2020.
