4th of July Events Around the Region

FireworksThe fourth of July is here,  and there are plenty of ways for you to welcome it in. This afternoon Southern Oregon has many exciting events celebrating the country’s independence.


Here’s a list of events happening around the region today:



Central Point – “Red White and Boom” – Jackson County Fairgrounds – 7:00 p.m.

Festivities started this morning and there are food vendors and bands until 4:00 p.m in Robert Pfaff Park. Then, Southern Oregon’s biggest Independence Day event kicks off at 7 p.m., with the “Red, White, and Boom” firework show at the Jackson County Fairgrounds. Seating is first come-first serve – and doors open at six. Fireworks get underway after dark.


Ashland – “This Is Our Land” – All Day

“This Land is Our Land” is the theme of Ashland’s holiday events. The 100-year old tradition begins at 10:15 this morning with the parade and there are activities all day, with a fireworks display over the SOU athletic field tonight at 10.


Eagle Point – “Patriotic Tribute” – All Day

Eagle Point’s patriotic tribute kicks off early and includes all day events as well. Things there get underway at 7 a.m., and end at the Eagle Point High School stadium with the community’s firework display. Eagle Point’s parade starts at 11 this morning.


Grants Pass – “4th of July Extravaganza” – Afternoon/Evening

Residents of Josephine County can head to the fairgrounds for a fourth of July extravaganza. Horse racing dominates the afternoon starting at 1:00 with the “Firecracker Futurity” and its prize of more than 31 thousand dollars. Gates reopen at 7:30 tonight after the race. Then, you can enjoy the music, food, and vendors until the fireworks start, just after ten. Admission is free, but a donation is suggested.


Klamath Falls – “Red, White and Boots” – 5:00 p.m.

In the Basin, it’s “Red, White and Boots!” The community parade is in the evening, starting at 5, followed by events and then fireworks over Lake Ewauna.


Cave Junction – 4th of July Events –  All Day

Out and About Treehouses in Cave Junction will have festivities for Independence Day. Swimming, vendors, and camping will happen all day, with bands starting at 3 p.m. and fireworks to begin at dusk.


Brookings - Chili Cook-off/4th of July Party and Fireworks Show – 1:00 p.m.

Brookings Harbor has a community chili cook-off for their Independence Day celebration starting at one in the afternoon until about three. Then the festivities for the 4th of July Party gets kicked off with a fireworks show in the evening.


Port Orford – Jubilee Parade and Fireworks – 11:00 a.m.

In Port Orford, the Jubilee Parade starts at 11:00 a.m. with activities right after. The fireworks show begins at 9:30.


Gold Beach – Firework Show – Sunset

Lakeview – Firework Show – After Dark


Yreka, CA/Mount Shasta, CA – Fireworks Shows

Patriots in Northern California have a couple of options for their fireworks tonight. Yreka, is celebrating with a show at the Siskiyou County Fairgrounds at 9:30 p.m, and with a short drive to the south, you can enjoy fireworks in Mount Shasta happening over Lake Siskiyou at 9:45 p.m.


Crescent City, CA – “4th of July Festival” – All Day

For those on the North California Coast. The 4th of July Festival features a parade that starts at 10:00 a.m. and festivities all day. Fireworks tonight start st 10:00 p.m. This is happening at the Beachfront Park.


Lake City, CA – Independence Day Events – 11:00 a.m.
