LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Another moderate earthquake rattled southern California today. It hit at 12:30 with a preliminary 4.5 magnitude. Many people felt another one last night, which measured 4.4, but those are not the only ones.
“There is a total of approximately 30 earthquakes, three of which were big enough to feel,” explains Cal-Tech Staff Seismologist Kate Hutton. “We had two 4.5’s, one last night and one this morning, that were pretty widely felt and there was also a 3.4 that was felt. This is all part of the same earthquake sequence, they’re all in the same area.”
Today’s earthquake happened near Yorba Linda in Orange County. No damage was reported.
