MEDFORD, Ore. – A local resource center for children with special needs received a big boost in funding thanks to a paddle call at the Festival of Trees on Wednesday night.

The total donation amount topped $35,600. Officials said this is much higher than expected. Swindells Resource Center helps families free of charge who have children with disabilities.

They offer books and referrals and other information to help any family needing assistance. The money they get from this paddle call will go toward enhancing those free services.
