MEDFORD, Ore. — The Pear Blossom Run brings in runners from all around Oregon and the Pacific Northwest to Medford, but on Saturday it was a pair of runners with local ties that won the big race. Trevor Palmer won the men’s ten mile. Palmer is a former runner for Crater High School and SOU. He crossed the finish line in 53:10, just 11 seconds ahead of second place. It’s Palmer’s third year running in the Pear Blossom, but the first time he’s won the event.
The winner of the women’s race is no stranger to finishing first. Marci Klimek Gage won her fourth straight ten mile run with a time of 58:00. She said she was hoping for the Pear Blossom women’s record of 57 minutes, but still finished with her best personal time of her four wins. Gage lives in Bend, but grew up in Phoenix.
