MEDFORD, Ore. — NewsWatch 12 is teaming up with the Salvation Army and Bi-Mart to help families in need this holiday season. The Annual Holiday Food and Toy Drive is now underway.
You can bring any non-perishable food items or toys to any Bi-Mart location. Right now, the Salvation Army says there is not a great need for any one particular item, but they say toy donations are more important than food at the moment.
Last year, the Salvation Army helped provide gifts to 3000 kids, and this year it’s looking to do the same, but the Salvation Army needs your help with toy donations.
“Things like Legos or Nerf guns for boys…puzzles and games are always really helpful… you know for the older girls’ things like jewelry kits and nail polish kits, and of course Barbie dolls are always important, because those can span a lot of ages for Barbie dolls,” said Salvation Army Development Director Jackie Agee.
Make sure if you do donate toys they are new and unwrapped. You can drop them off in any red Holiday Toy and Food Drive Bin at participating Bi-Mart locations.
The Holiday Toy and Food Drive runs through December 20. From there all donations will go to the Salvation Army where they will be distributed to families in need.
